Wheat Price in Siberia Dropped 1.9% Last Week, Grain Union Says
Third-grade milling wheat fell 150 rubles, or 1.9 percent, to an average 7,617 rubles ($260) a metric ton in West Siberia last week, leading Russian grains prices lower, according to Russia’s Grain Union.
Prices of the milling wheat were 8,663 rubles a ton in the southern Urals, 7,738 rubles in the so-called black-earth central Russia, 6,750 rubles in northern Caucasus and 8,057 tons in the Volga area, the union said in an e-mailed report today.
The fourth-grade wheat was little changed at 6,383 rubles a ton in northern Caucasus area and 8,419 rubles a ton in the Southern Urals, it said. Milling rye gained 100 rubles to 7,357 rubles a ton in the Volga region and climbed 43 rubles to 7,000 rubles a ton in the Urals area, according to the union. Prices fell in Central Russia to 7,617 rubles a ton and to 7,525 rubles a ton in black-earth Russia, it said.
Feed wheat fell 100 rubles to 6,717 rubles a ton in West Siberia, according to the report. Feed barley fell 116 rubles to 9,017 rubles a ton in Central Russia, the union said.
